We stayed her for an overnighter, check-in was fast and friendly, and pull through sites were welcomed. Beyond that, it's not great. The sites are level and long enough but are gravel and pretty narrow. There are no picnic tables or any site improvements. There is a children's playground, but it's rather limited and old and tailored for toddlers. It's about 5 mins off I-5 so it's convenient. There is a bit of road noise off Hwy 12, and there are trains that run occasionally on the other side of the highway. The internet Wi-Fi works well. It was good for a night, but it needs more trees and grass.
Our family loves camping for long weekends at the Lynden KOA. The family that owns it cares about their campers and it shows. They offer wonderful activities, the kids love the mini golf, the pool (which is spotless), the pond, the playground... They have a small cafe which serves lunches and coffees. Many weekends through the summer they have special events for families. The small dutch town of Lynden is very quaint and pleasant to walk around. Mount Baker is a half an hour away and the campground is on the doorstep to the Canadian border. Highly recommended!
We've stayed here twice and have found this KOA a good weekend or overnight stop. It is clean and pleasant, the sites were a little old but not bad. The kids enjoyed the indoor pool and the playground. We stayed here also at Easter in 2007 and the campground put on a real fun egg hunt for the kids. The campground is convenient to I-5, but 5 mins away, so it's nice and quiet.
We've stayed here 3 times now, each time for 3-5 days. It's a great campground in the Oliver area set amongst tall pine trees. Most of the sites are nicely spaced and the park is kept very clean. The private lake is quite nice, but the KOA access is a fairly small beach. The park is good for kids, it would receive a higher rating than an 8 if it had an updated payground and a pool. Other than that, it is a beautiful park, and does not feel like a private campground. The location is wondeful for winery tours and walks. Be careful with the tall grasses because 3 kids with us had ticks on them after a short walk. (Not the KOAs fault)
